So, the coupon I bought the last time included tickets to Gardens By the Bay. I was really keen in going to the Gardens and it does look like something that would be quite interesting.

We went to the Gardens late in the afternoon.

We had extra tickets and managed to sell them at a slight discounts to locals. (Tourists were wary of us selling the tickets!). There are two conservatories and we went to the Flower Dome first.

The first feeling was relief! Because the dome is air-conditioned, I was happy to stay out of the crazy hot humid weather.

The plants at the entrance of the dome was a tad boring. A whole lot of cactus and non-flowering plants.

Before we made our way towards the colourful flowers that were beckoning us, we passed by a few interesting features.

And very quickly, we made our way to the flowers. And the flowers were lovely!

Love the colours!

Love the colours!

It was very nice to be able to see such a lovely garden in Singapore!

By the time we were done with the Flower dome, it was rather late and we headed straight to the Cloud Forest.

Entrance of the Cloud Forest

Entrance of the Cloud Forest

A waterfall greeted us at the entrance of the Cloud Forest. It was cold inside the Cloud Forest!!

So one has to take the lift to go to upper levels to start the walk amongst the ‘clouds’.

P1110180Essentially, the cloud forest is for visitors to walk along the elevated walkway. There is nothing really special on the walkway itself per se. But it was still an interesting walk because it was twilight when we started our walk and it was kinda misty so it was a wee bit magical. The walkway is made of glass and it can be quite intimidation for those who have a fear of heights.

The key feature of the cloud forest is this artificial waterfall, which was made all the more interesting with the lighting.

P1110197At the end of the walk, we could go one level down to view at stones.

P1110195I hate to say this but I really don’t know how to appreciate these.

P1110201So that’s that for the 2 conservatories.

By the time we got out of the conservatory and headed towards to artificial trees, the lights had come on.

I must say, the scenery was quite a sight to behold. In the darkness, with the trees lit, there is a Avatar-esque feel. It felt kinda magical, really. And I have never seen Singapore so beautiful and this makes me so proud.

IMG_2040After this trip to Gardens by the Bay, each time someone asks me where they should go visit in Singapore, I would always, always recommend Gardens by the Bay and that they should stay till past sunset to enjoy something that is Uniquely Singapore.
